| The first part of the walk is through Shell Park to Greenwich Wharf through typical Sydney sandstone vegetation. Views of the Lane Cove River and Hunter Hill can be seen through the trees.
Houses of particular historical interest are seen in Lower Serpentine St and Richard St. At the end of Richard St there is a view of the Greenwich Baths - a delightful tidal harbour pool.
Manns Point is now the home of the Greenwich Sailing Club but in the 19th and 20th centuries it was home to several industrial ventures and the site of Sydney Harbour's first tunnel.
A short sharp climb takes us to the Mann's Point Lookout with its panoramic views of Cockatoo Island and Sydney Harbour.
The return walk to Shell Park passes some of Greenwich's original houses. |
